Seidel’s Saddlery was opened in 1991 in Cody, WY by Keith & Lisa Seidel in our first location on Rumsey Aveue. After a few years there, we moved to “Main Street”, that is Sheridan Avenue, to 1210 Sheridan Avenue, and then in 2000, we purchased our current corner location and made a landmark of the store with our vintage-looking 20 foot neon sign.

Seidel’s Saddlery started out as a very small saddle shop on a back street in Cody, WY and is today a thriving high-end retail store and saddle shop. We specialize in superior custom leather work, from ornate collector saddles to beautiful wearable art, in the form of fabulous custom hand tooled belts.

The retail store on the ground level offers an outlet for our exquisite leather work in the form of saddles, desk sets, briefcases, belts, etc. Seidel's also showcases amazing sterling silver and gold belt buckles made by the very best western silversmiths of today. These silver companies include Bohlin, Clint Orms, R. Schaezlein & Son, Comstock Heritage, Sunset Trails, Greg Jensen, and others.

The saddle shop upstairs is where the not-so-romantic work is performed. Keith & his team of saddlemakers work painstakingly to ensure that each and every item is designed and constructed to meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.

Seidel's Saddlery customers include some famous people, such as President George W. Bush, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Candice Bergen, Tom Selleck, and former president of Mexico, Vicente Foxx.

Seidel's Saddlery tries extremely hard to have items in the store that are comparable in quality to the leatherwork that we make. When you walk into Seidel’s Saddlery, you get the feeling of a truly authentic western store; no rubber tomahawks here. You will be taken back to the days of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Tom Mix, John Wayne, and others who embodied the wide open American West, when business was done on a handshake, and men were men of their word.
